HOSPICE CHARITY WALK. June. 12th - 20th 2004
Distinguished marathon walker Alfred Short is planning a sponsored walk through the Province in Hospice week 12th / 20th June 2004 and to visit all 14 Hospices in the Province to raise funds to be distributed amongst the Hospice involved.
Members are encouraged to give their support to make this a memorable and successful effort by the Province. It is hoped that Communication Officers will report to the Groups for which they have responsibility and encourage the fullest participation.
The Rt.W.Pr.G.M. has expressed the hope that each member of the Province will start the sponsorship with a contributions of, from £1 per head. Each Group is invited to support the walk by joining Alf (particularly through their own area) for whatever part of the walk they wish, for as long as the individual feels able to walk.
The timing of arrival at each Hospice will be calculated back to determine the start time each day. The numbers walking with Alf on that day will influence this timing. Once these details have been calculated the information will be forwarded to you.
A full risk assessment will be developed, professional advice sought where necessary and an information and guidance package forwarded to each group at a later stage.
